One way to keep the selection process simple is to run your countertop material up onto the wall as the backsplash instead of choosing a tile at all.
Full granite backsplash or tile.
I believe a full backsplash looks great when you have the proper contrast between the stone and your cabinet color.
A full backsplash requires much less labor then tiling and grouting.
Granite backsplash sits on top of the counter and is attached to the wall with silicone.
It is typically finished with an eased edge no matter what edge profile you use on your counters.
This style will work especially well if you have a lighter colored granite countertop as the dark slate tiles will contrast the granite.
Full granite backsplash would be way too much granite for me but then i didn t even want granite on all my counters.

A wood backsplash can give your home more of a rustic look.
